Is the police department racist as an organization? 

 

Why does it seem as if the system is working against people of color?

 

We watch the media and we often question, why did this happen?  

 

How did that happen?  

 

Well, as a black man who grew up in Boston, 

my interactions with the police force and criminal justice system ranging from my youth to the twenty-five years that I have worked in law enforcement and my continued inevitable interactions with White people,

I will say this: In this world we are surrounded by good and bad people; 

 

And many good people, and unfortunately some bad people as well, become cops!
